Author Kim Dixon recently held a book signing at the Walnut Cove Library for her newest book titled, Can These Bones Live Again? It was released in April, 2018 through Noah’s Ark Publishing and is the fourth book the Walnut Cove native has written.
“This book takes you on my journey with chronic pain and brokenness. I was born with bow legs that led to the early development of arthritis. I had many surgeries and I experienced emotional traumas throughout my life,” the author said.
That physical brokenness led to a spiritual brokenness and through writing she was given permission to become free from past hurt she’d experienced.
“I knew who God was, but I never realized He knew who I was. My memoir shares my story of pain, endurance, hope and redemption and how I learn to physically and spiritually walk again.”
Dixon used her expertise as a certified life coach to remain positive and hopes the project motivates others to live their best life.
“I pray people would receive a message of hope from the book. I never imagined that other people would get their freedom from the past through reading my story, but that is precisely what is happening. For the first time many people are acknowledging their pain and that is setting them free from the burden of carrying their secrets.”
The author graduated from South Stokes, but currently resides in Raleigh and enjoys coming back to her hometown. She held a book signing in mid-May in Walnut Cove and another on July 14. She’s planning another book event in early fall.
