The 2A Western Piedmont Athletic Conference released the spring all-conference teams and 45 students from West Stokes were represented in baseball, softball, lacrosse, golf, soccer, tennis and track and field.
Senior MacKenzie Parker was named WPAC player of the year in softball and coach Jordan Stevens received the only coach of the year honors for the Wildcats during the spring. The team finished 18-8 and received a state playoff bid. Other team members who made all-conference were: Rachel Delcamp, Hannah Woody, Allison Mabe, Faye Lawson and freshman Tori Tucker.
West Stokes ladies soccer team finished 17-6 and placed second in the conference behind Forbush. Senior Micah Harris led the team with 34 goals and is a three time all-conference player. Allie Hawkins made the team for a second time along with Anna Bates, Tiril Olsen, Abby Walker, and Lizzy Luzzi. Freshmen Hannah Spainhour and Emma Santoro were selected as honorable mentions.
The Wildcats baseball team experienced a season of highs and lows and finished 12-14 overall. Senior Tyler Little and sophomore Jacob Mabe were named all-conference and teammates Jordan Smith and Logan Griffith were selected as honorable mention.
Track and field sent five athletes to the state meet and 16 student athletes made all-conference in multiple events. To make all-conference, competitors were required to finish in the top two in their events. This year’s selection included: Erin Duke, Kari Rice, Sydney Cockerham, Hunter Jackson, Caroline Pulliam, Shay Blakely, Sydney Cromer, Emily Emerson, Laila McGee, Sarah Rice, Jacob Adkins, Zach Watts, Alex Lynch, Timmy White, Jacob Schrum, and Dustin Blevins.
Noah Spainhour, Isaac Spainhour, and Ian Simpson were named all-conference in tennis and Ryan Hunter, Kyle McCloud, and Andrew Westmoreland for golf.
Men’s lacrosse played in a 1A/2A/3A conference and finished with an overall record of 12-7. Marcus Dowdy, Alex Puckett, and Noah Muniz were named all-conference and teammates Reid Pettitt and Seth Moore touted honorable mention.
West Stokes returns 34 all-conference student athletes next season.
