Six members of the Contractors Professional Network Institute met with members of the “Our Communities” initiative group and some of the county commissioners April 6 and 7 to discuss possible uses of the Francisco School. We enjoyed their input and ideas brought out in our meetings and welcome their help in our future endeavors concerning our school and our community.

Sharon McGeeney, personal trainer and fitness instructor, said her new classes have started at Piney Grove Middle School cafeteria. Anyone interested in losing those extra pounds, toning up a bit or just having fun is welcome to attend! If you have any questions, just give Sharon a call at 336-325-0497.

There will be Bingo again at the Francisco Community Building Saturday, April 16. Hot dogs will be available at 6:00 pm and the games start at 7:00 pm. This is being sponsored by the Francisco Community Building and everyone is invited to come out. Hope to see you there!

It’s time to start planning “Community Day” at the Francisco Community Building. This year it will be on Saturday, May 7. This is always a big event for Francisco and everyone always has a wonderful time! I’ll have more about this in the coming weeks.

And speaking of “Community Day”, representatives from the Adopt-a-Highway organization will be there that day, to speak with persons interested in participating in cleaning up the highways in our area. Sign-up sheets will be available. This is such a worthy project and something anyone can do to beautify our neighborhood.

Kathy Blue, “Our Communities” Beautification and Outdoor Enhancement team leader, said that we have received our first grant from well-known company Burt’s Bees. They will be sending wildflower seeds that the team will be planting for our community to enjoy as well as to increase pollinators.
