Pastor Jerry Manuel of Riverside Baptist Church wishes to thank all the singers for singing at their revival. He said, “God surely blessed each and every one.” Plan to attend on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, as the women of the church cook breakfast for the men at 8:30 am. All are invited. Sunday school will follow at 10 am and Sunday morning worship at 11 am. Vacation Bible School will begin July 16 – July 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 nightly. The theme for this year is ‘God’s Game Plan’. Tricia invites all ages to come and find out what God’s game plan is for their life.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“Compassion is at the heart of every little thing we do. It is the dearest quality we possess. Yet all too often it can be cast aside with consequences too tragic to speak of. To lose our compassion, we lose what it is to be human.” Anonymous
TRIED AND TASTED RECIPE
Cherry Cheesecake Lush – I know, it doesn’t sound like much. I did make this for the bluegrass singing this past Saturday. People would ask what I had for dessert. Eyebrows were raised when I told them what it was. But, after they tasted it, they said it was delicious. Anyway, I sold it all; so, I guess it was.
1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 stick butter, melted
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
16 oz. whipped topping, divided
2 small boxes cheesecake flavored instant pudding
3 cups milk
1 can cherry pie filling
½ cup chopped pecans
In a medium mixing bowl, combine vanilla wafer crumbs, finely chopped pecans and melted butter. Press into 9 x 13 baking pan; bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. In a separate mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1 ½ cups whipped topping. Mix until smooth; spread evenly over cooled crust. Combine cheesecake pudding mix, milk, 1 cup whipped topping and mix until smooth. Spread evenly over cream cheese layer in pan. Top with cherry pie filling, remaining whipped topping and ½ cup chopped pecans. Refrigerate.
