We had a wonderful turn out at the Raise the Roof Breakfast last Saturday! This event netted a grand total of $2300. That’s a lot of gravy and pancakes. Plans are in the works for the same type of breakfast coming up this fall. We need all the help we can get to put a new roof on the community building.

Don’t forget about the huge yard sale taking place Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9, in the Asbury community. Several families on Flippin Rd. and Collins Farm Road are participating. Friday’s hours are from 8:00 am to whenever and Saturday is from 8:00am-noon. Come out and get those must have items that you cannot do without.

Our Communities Group will be having Summertime Bingo at the Francisco Community Building Saturday, June 16. Hot dogs will be ready at 6:00 pm and the games start at 7:00 pm. All prizes are summer related. The cost is $20 for 20 games and everyone is invited to attend.

We will be having a Community Farmfest Planning meeting Tuesday, June 19, at the Francisco Community Building beginning at 7:00 pm. This meeting is open to anyone in the area that may have some ideas to make this year’s Farmfest bigger and better. Come on out and let your thoughts be known. The Farmfest is a way to bring the community together to celebrate the homegrown and homemade.

Many of you know by now that I have changed career paths. Since I won’t be going out into the community as much as I have in the past, I need you to send me articles and information pertaining to area happenings in the community. My email address is and my phone number is 336-351-3216. I welcome any and all information that you feel others need to know in our community. This is not just for Francisco. It also includes Collinstown, Asbury, Johnstown and the Aaron’s Corner section. Please feel free to contact me regarding church functions such as revivals and vacation Bible school, fundraising events, prayer lists, births, weddings, just anything that would be of interest to our community.
