If you haven’t, take the time to notice the flowering trees now. They are gorgeous! The dogwoods and red buds are also starting to blossom. We truly live in a beautiful place.

By all accounts, the Ruritan Pancake Breakfast last Saturday was a big success! My compliments to the chef/ chefs on a great job; the pancakes were delicious, just needed a bigger plate. I think we need to make this an annual event.

Crossroad Community Church is hosting their second annual week long Tent Revival starting Monday, April 16, beginning at 7:00 pm, at the Francisco School Playground. The Revival will feature Tracey Collins-Monday night, Rickey Rogers-Tuesday night, Mark George-Wednesday night, Terry Collins-Thursday night and Mickey Brooks-Friday night. There will be special gospel singing on Saturday night beginning at 5:30 pm and food will be provided for a donation. This was such a blessing last year. Hope everyone can come out and enjoy the preaching of these fine men.

The Francisco Ruritan Club will host a Cash Bingo Saturday, April 24, at the Francisco Community Building. Hot dogs will be ready at 6:00 pm and the games start at 7:00 pm. The cost is $20 for 20 games. Bring a friend and enjoy the evening.

An “Everything You Need to Make Salsa Class” will be held at the Francisco Community Building Tuesday, April 24, beginning at 7:00 pm. Our Herb Class was such a success last month. This class will be a bit different but still using the fresh herbs and produce. The cost is $10 and everyone is invited to attend.

The Francisco Volunteer Fire Department is busy making plans for their 50th Anniversary Celebration Saturday, May 5 at the Francisco Community Building. At 12 noon, a short program is planned to discuss the history of the fire department. After the program, a cake cutting ceremony is planned with a video of charter members of the fire department as well as current members swapping stories and histories. Be sure to check out the “Display of Decades”. This will be so cool. Lunch will be available with hot dogs and BBQ sandwiches (free of course). Make plans to share our special day!

The Francisco Ladies Auxiliary has voted to have its name changed to the Francisco Fire and Rescue Auxiliary. This organization plays such an important role in supporting the fire department, and helping in any way possible in the community. It’s now open to anyone who would like to join.

Please be in prayer for the Robert Hodge Family. Robert, of the Sandy Ridge community, passed away Monday at his home. His sister, Carol Collins, lives in the Francisco community. Please lift his wife, Donna and all his family up in prayer.
