Cheek family celebrates 50th reunion

The Cheek Family 50th Reunion was held at Mountain Top Youth Camp in Pinnacle the week of Aug. 5. There was a total of 71 people who attended throughout the week helping to keep the family tradition going.

Troy and Alma Cheek from Bear Creek, NC have 206 descendants. Out of the six generations, there were two siblings of the second generation present and ages ranged from three-months-old to 92-years-young.

Throughout the reunion, family members took part in games, swimming, eating and talking. The family lit sky lanterns in honor of family members who had passed.
