Chestnut Grove offers camp for rising middle school students

Staff Report

Calling all rising 6th grade students to Chestnut Grove Middle School! A great opportunity awaits you to help with the transition from elementary school to middle school. Chestnut Grove Middle School has partnered with Insight Human Services to provide a program in which students will be introduced to Chestnut Grove staff, the school campus, and students from various elementary schools. The best part of this program is it is free from funding provided by Insight Human Services.

Students will have an opportunity to participate in fun activities to help them get to know one another, learn where lockers are located, how to open their locks, how the cafeteria operates, and how to read a school schedule. Games and teambuilding activities will also be played, with a light snack provided.

Chestnut Grove Camp Middle School will be held Tuesday, August 14 and Wednesday, August 15, 2018. There are two session times for students to participate. The morning session will be 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day. The afternoon session will be 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Students must have an authorized pick up person, with identification, to sign out students daily upon departure. Students wanting to attend the morning session need to eat breakfast before camp. Students wanting to attend the afternoon session need to eat lunch before camp.
