McDavid receives 2018 Nelson Cup Award

Former King resident and graduate of West Stokes High School Kaylee McDavid was awarded the 2018 Nelson Cup Award on Saturday May 5, 2018 at the commencement ceremony at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.

The Nelson Cup is named for the late Dr. D.M. Nelson, president of Mississippi College from 1932 to 1957. This award is given to the graduating senior with the highest academic average during their four years at MC. McDavid graduated with a 4.0 GPA with a degree in Elementary Education. She is the daughter of former King, NC residents Donnie and Pam McDavid. Kaylee will start her teaching career in the fall at Clinton Park Elementary in Clinton, MS teaching kindergarten.
