Livestock Show champions

The South Stokes High School FFA Chapter and Stokes County Cooperative Extension held the annual Livestock Shows during the Stokes County Agricultural Fair last week. The Commercial Ewe show took place on Wednesday, Sept. 13. There was a total of 35 commercial ewes that were shown by 24 exhibitors. The Grand Champion Commercial Ewe was shown by exhibitor Grant Smith. The Reserve Champion Commercial Ewe was shown by exhibitor Ethan Shipton. The Senior Showmanship Grand Champion exhibitor was Sarah Birkholz.

The Market Lamb show took place on Wednesday, Sept. 13. There was a total of 42 market lambs that were shown by 27 exhibitors. The Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by exhibitor Kayla Birkholz. The Reserve Champion was shown by exhibitor Anna Hill.

The Market Goat show took place on Thursday, Sept. 14. There was a total of 27 market goats that were shown by 19 exhibitors. The Grand Champion Market goat was shown by exhibitor Addison Farris. The Reserve Champion was shown by exhibitor Colt Melton.

The Breeding Doe show took place on Thursday, Sept. 14. There was a total of 23 breeding does that were shown by 12 exhibitors. The Grand Champion Breeding Doe was shown by exhibitor Josie Stanberry. The Reserve Champion was shown by exhibitor Emma Stanberry. The Senior Showmanship Grand Champion exhibitor was Emma Stanberry.

The Cattle show took place Friday, Sept. 15. There was a total of 53 cattle that were shown by 22 exhibitors. The Grand Champion of All Other Breeds and Commercial Cattle was shown by exhibitor Barrett Mabe. The Grand Champion of Hereford Cattle was shown by exhibitor Nora Cave. The Reserve Champion of Hereford Cattle was shown by exhibitor Erica Shutsky. The Grand Champion of Hereford Cow/Calf Pair was shown by exhibitor Erica Shutsky. The Reserve Champion of Hereford Cow/Calf Pair was shown by exhibitor Amber Shutsky. The Grand Champion of Angus Cattle was shown by Caleb Williams. The Grand Champion of Simmental/Percentage Simmental Cattle was shown by exhibitor Bailey Durham. The Reserve Champion of Simmental/Percentage Simmental Cattle was shown by exhibitor Tanner Birkholz.

The Supreme Grand Champion for the 2017 Stokes County Fair Livestock Show was shown by exhibitor Bailey Durham. The Reserve Supreme Champion for the 2017 Stokes County Fair Livestock Show was shown by exhibitor Nora Cave.
