Want to donate school supplies but don’t know where to drop them off? Stop by Main Street Ink this Saturday, Aug. 12 in King from noon until 6 p.m. and help Old North State Beard Club raise funds and back-to-school supplies for children of Stokes County.
For $20 and a donation of school supplies, Main Street Ink will provide a credit card size tattoo from sheets of predesigned tattoos, ranging from traditional Americana to school-themed.
“We talked about doing a backpack with a zipper tag that says 2017 and possibly doing a pencil, and instead of number two, adding 2017 for the school year,” said Old North State Beard Club president, Travis Leonard.
Last year, Old North State Beard Club and Main Street Ink raised more than $400 and a truck load of school supplies donated to local schools.
“It’s important to us because we want to give back to our community in ways we know how,” Leonard said. “We want to help parents that may be struggling to purchase these things this time of year.”
Old North State Beard Club is a bearded brotherhood known for its service. The club has given back by donations to Brenner Children’s Hospital, sponsorships for special needs children and collaborations with the Stokes County Arts Council.
