Rotary sponsors student to attend youth leadership program

The Rotary Club of King is sponsoring West Stokes High School student Beverly Perez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benito Perez, of King to attend the 34th annual Rotary Youth Leadership Program held at Guilford College on Sunday, July 23.

This exciting camp, co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greensboro/Rotary District 7690 and the Center for Creative Leadership, is a powerful experience that shapes the leaders of tomorrow, and inspires young people to become forces for positive change in our local and global communities.

Perez is the incoming president of West Stokes Interact Club and is active in the band and other student organizations.

RYLP uses the skills and experiences of the Center for Creative Leadership instructors, regional Rotarians, business community leaders and recent RYLP alumni to provide unique leadership training for 50 students throughout the Piedmont area. The week-long residency at Guilford College provides the same experience afforded to business, political and military leaders the world-over—but at no cost to students. The program is free for attendees, with local Rotary Clubs providing the sponsorships necessary to fund each student’s experience.
