Mrs. Mollie McDowell’s first grade class donated 330 items in Germanton Elementary School’s food drive.

The students of Germanton Elementary School hoped to “Take a Bite Out of Hunger” this holiday season by collecting 1,535 non-perishable foods items to be donated to East Stokes Outreach Ministry.

The class which donated the most items was promised a cookie party by Mrs. Heather Pendleton, the school’s principal. Mrs. Mollie McDowell’s first grade class donated 330 items and had their party January 11th.

The following classes also participated: Mrs. Susan Linville’s Kindergarten, 135; Mrs. Amanda Dover’s Kindergarten/1st grade combination, 173; Mrs. Bonita Newsome’s 2nd grade, 117; Mrs. Cynthia McDaniel’s 2nd grade, 129; Mrs. Ann Courville’s 3rd grade, 37; Ms. Anna Alverson’s 3rd grade, 113; Mrs. Mary Pratt’s 4th grade, 130; Mrs. Stacey McCraw’s 4th and 5th grade, 123; and Mrs. Linda Jones’ 5th grade, 190.
