An opening reception will be held in honor of artists Mary Jane Noah and Chuck Dellinger on Friday, Feb. 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Apple Gallery at the Stokes County Arts Council, 500 N. Main Street, Danbury. The exhibit will be on display February 20th through March 19th. The public is invited to attend this free event.

Mary Jane Noah is mostly a self-taught artist in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, fiber, clay and nature crafts. She enjoys all mediums of art, and has mainly come to settle into working with clay. She has taught classes in pottery and crafts. Noah has taken classes at The Sawtooth Center and Rockingham Community College. She is a member of the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, Art for Art’s Sake, the Winston-Salem Crafter’s Guild, and Stokes and Rockingham County Arts Councils. Noah has won ribbons at the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem “Art Imagined” Show and the Fine Arts Festival Association of Rockingham County, and is currently a recipient of AAWS artist biography promotion video.

Chuck Dellinger, Noah’s son, started working in wood by learning to carve at a summer camp at the age of 12. He enjoys taking a tree trunk or limb and turning it into a work of art to be used, appreciated, and enjoyed. He creates small pieces such as spoons and cups and also large furniture pieces such as stools, tables, and chairs. Dellinger has displayed some of his work at The Sawtooth Center and also in galleries in Blowing Rock and in Mount Airy.

Taylor Vaden will provide a program of music at the opening reception for Noah and Dellinger in the Apple Gallery. Artist’s Way Café and Bakery located at 508 N. Main Street, Danbury, will be open for dinner with music provided by Mason Via.
