Stokes Partnership for Children holding photo contest

Stokes Partnership for Children is pleased to announce a photo contest featuring young children, ages birth to 5. Children featured in photographs must reside in Stokes County. The 2013 theme is “Preserving Stokes County’s Historic Past.”
Only recent photographs will be accepted and no larger than 8-by-10. Matted or framed photos will not be accepted. Amateur photographers only. Three winning pictures will be selected. Prizes are to be awarded to the winning photographers, with first place being a $100 gift card, second place a $50 gift card and third place a $25 gift card. Each photographer who submits an entry will be given a children’s book, with a limit of one book per photographer. Only one prize will be awarded per photographer.
All prizes and books must be picked up at Stokes Partnership for Children, or at the 12th annual Little Folks Festival to be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, at King Elementary School. All entries will be on display at the Little Folks Festival. All entries must be received by Friday, March 8, and there is a $5 entry fee per photograph submitted.
Winners will be judged on relevance to theme and creativity. Members of the Stokes Partnership for Children Board of Directors will act as judges. Stokes Partnership for Children reserves the right to eliminate or disqualify any entry. All pictures become the property of Stokes Partnership for Children and may be used in future publications including the Stokes Family Resource Guide, SPC newsletter, brochure, website, etc. The first place photograph may be featured on the cover of Stokes Partnership for Children’s Stokes Family Resource Guide and the SPC website.
Stokes Partnership for Children is a non-profit organization led by local volunteers, designed to provide programs and services for families and children in Stokes County. SPC administers Smart Start funds from the state legislature to support programs to benefit children age birth to five and their families, is a catalyst for bringing different groups together for the sake of the children, educates the community on the critical needs of young children and helps develop solutions.
