Girl Scout camp is not just for registered Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont (GSCP2P) invites all girls entering grades 1-12 to have fun at camp this summer and is now accepting camp registrations for all girls, both member and non-member.

Resident camps are offered throughout June and July at three of the council’s camp properties. Register online at www.camplikeagirl.org by March 18 to save $50.

GSCP2P resident camp properties include Camp Ginger Cascades (Lenoir, N.C.), Camp Pisgah (Brevard, N.C.) and Keyauwee Program Center (Sophia, N.C.).

This year, day camps will also be offered at each resident camp with convenient bus stops in Arden and Asheville (Camp Pisgah); Dallas, Hickory, Morganton and Statesville (Camp Ginger Cascades); and Asheboro, Colfax, High Point and Winston-Salem (Keyauwee Program Center). The cost for a day camp program is $180/week; no discount.

These three Girl Scout camps offer traditional camp activities that include swimming, boating, nature exploration, low challenge course, hiking and campfire gatherings within its specialty sessions that target the arts, dance, horseback riding, water activities, adventure sports, science and more. Each of the sleeping areas have access to electricity, plumbing and hot showers.

“Girl Scout summer camp programs provide educational and healthy outdoor experiences for girls,” said Marcia Cole, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont. “Camp is a place where girls learn to live and work together, make new friends, practice leadership skills and of course, have fun.”

Girl Scout outcomes speak to the organization’s three keys to leadership — discover, connect and take action — and are integral components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the 15 outcomes set forth by Girl Scouts of the USA. In addition, resident camps are American Camp Association (ACA) accredited and comply with more than 300 standards.
