ASHEBORO — Mrs. Mildred Cagle Beaver, 86, of Asheboro, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.


MADISON — Cameron Richmond Martin, 25, of 1482 Martin Farm Road, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, N.C.

A memorial service was scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Patzfahl officiating.

Cameron was born June 30, 1987, in Rockingham County, to Tim and Crystal R. Martin. He was a graduate of North Stokes High School, RCC and DCCC and worked for NCDOT. Cameron’s organs were donated to Carolina Donor Services.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Billy Richmond and Byron Martin.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by sister, Tracie M Robertson (David), of Danbury; nephews, Abram and Ian Robertson; fiancée, Sydney Dobbelstein, of Lawsonville; grandmothers, Bobbye Richmond of Ruffin and Pauline Martin of Madison; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who love him very much.

The family received friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the home.

The family requests that memorials be made to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover Street, Building 3, Hanover, MA 02339.

WINSTON-SALEM — Mrs. Audrey Jane Neely, 69, of Winston-Salem, wife of Gene Neely of King, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Abingdon, Va.


PILOT MOUNTAIN — Rev. Troy Franklin Phillips, 90, husband of deceased wife Lillian Gillispie, left this earth on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, for a home which he had preached about for 45 years. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Rescue Baptist Church.


KING — Ruby Lee Lumford Spainhour, 86, died Monday evening, January 14, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was born December 5, 1926, in Stokes County to Rawl and Mattie Boles Lumford. She retired from Mountain Valley Living Center. Ruby was passionate about politics and often furnished transportation for voters to take them to their appointed voting polls. She was a member of Closer Walk Baptist Church.

A 2 p.m. graveside service was held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Closer Walk Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Martin officiating.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Spainhour; a son, Melvin Lee Thomas; and a sister, Hazel Smith.

She is survived by a son, Johnny Thomas (Sandra) of King; three granddaughters, Cindy, Lisa (Bryan), Shanna (Jamie); one grandson, Allen (Tabby); nine great grandchildren, Jason (Ashley), Anthony, David, Ashton, J.J., Hailey, Leland, Raelyn, Jacob; one sister, Ann Kiser of Walnut Cove; and many others that called her “grandma” and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
