The Stokes County Arts Council is proud to host artist Jan Rollyson with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, Jan. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Apple Gallery, 500 N. Main Street, Danbury.

The public is invited to attend the reception and meet the artist. The exhibit will be on display in the Apple Gallery through Jan. 22. The opening reception and viewing of the exhibit are free and open to the public.

Jan Rollyson began drawing in pen and ink as a young child and invariably selected animal subjects. In college, she was introduced to and became addicted to ceramics. As her passion for art grew, she began to blend her drawing and painting with nature and animals. Rollyson participated in the Associated Artists’ International Juried Spring Show in 2010 as one of the 85 artists selected from a field of 500 entries. She has also exhibited at several other local art shows including the Forsyth County Central Library. Inspired almost exclusively by nature, Rollyson aspires to preserve and protect the Natural World with her creations. Through her passion for nature, Rollyson became the owner of Blue Planet Art and Design.
