The Rock House Ruritan Club members are selling $50 tickets for the $5,000 money giveaway on May 4th. Turkey shoots continue to be held at their club every Saturday night with the doors opening at 5 p.m. The shooting starts at 6 p.m. The Lupo family from Rural Hall surprised us Saturday night by attending and visiting with family members.

Our community lost a good neighbor and friend Sunday morning when L.G. Tilley died at the Forsyth Memorial Hospital. L.G. got the Double Creek Fire Department organized and was chief there several years. Without him, we would not have our fire department in our community. L.G. will be missed by all who knew him. We extend sympathy to his family.

Judy Chilton has returned home from the Forysth Memorial Hospital. She had a stroke before Thanksgiving.

Pat Faries spent the weekend in Huntersville with her daughter Gina.

We enjoyed having Kayla Lewis home for the holidays from Wingate University. She has returned back to college now. She is the daughter of Tony and Melissa Lewis of Shoals.

Jimmy Johnson is better but still not completely over the flu. He has been sick for about 2 weeks.

Mike Cromer has been sick with the flu as well but is now able to go back to work.

Sanders McHone is confined to his home due to illness. He spent two weeks in the Forsyth Memorial Hospital.

Carolina Tarheels are not playing good ball. They are lagging behind.

Income tax season is approaching. Don’t forget to file before April 15th.

Lets all hope and pray for our new governor that he will do a good job for North Carolina.
