The Lady Sauras picked up their second conference win of the season on Tuesday night.
The Lady Sauras picked up their second conference win of the season in a game against the Wildcats on Tuesday night at West Stokes High School.
The team grabbed a narrow 44-42 win over the Wildcats in a nail-biting fourth quarter.
“When you get in a rivalry game like this, both teams are going to come out and play hard,” Lady Sauras Coach Mitch Adams said. “There was a lot on the line tonight.”
The Lady Sauras moved to 2-4 in conference.
Top scorers for the Lady Sauras were Kelli Mounce (28 pts.) and Hannah Wood (6 pts.)
The Wildcats had a slow start in Tuesday night’s game against the Sauras and only led by six points at halftime.
But, the team rallied and gained a 26 point lead by the end of the third quarter, which brought the score to 54-28. The Wildcats coasted out of the game with a 70-37 win in the final quarter.
West Stokes remain undefeated at 6-0 in the conference this season.
“I was pleased with our second half tonight,” Wildcats Coach Dan Spainhour said.
Top scorers for the evening were Alston Furr (17 pts.), Reid Goodson (17 pts.) and Keshawn Rawleigh (9 pts.).
West Stokes will square off against Winston-Salem Prep this Friday in a home game.
