The Cystic Fibrosis Flip-a-thon was held at Miss Joyce’s Dance Studio on Saturday, Oct. 27. Students worked on their acrobatics skills while raising money for cystic fibrosis research.

After two hours of acrobatics the students and their parents were treated to a hot dog supper by Joyce Triche. On Nov. 3rd they returned to turn in their money and receive their local prizes. Jesse Rishak was in charge on Nov. 3rd.

A total of $410 was raised for cystic fibrosis research. Brianna Barnette of Pinnacle raised the most money. She received flowers, gift certificates and other local prizes. Laila Rivera came in second place. She is from Rural Hall. In a giant tie for third place were Ashley Handshoe, Emma Rose Hutchens, Sophie Hutchens and Jordin Singletary. Samarin Kipple came in fourth.

All participants received local prizes donated by Bubble Me Pink, Dario, Miss Joyce’s Dance Studio and Talley’s Flower Shop. Six of the participants will receive a t-shirt from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for raising $50 or more. Flip-a-thons have been held annually at Miss Joyce’s Dance Studio since 1985 with over $15,000 raised.
