On Nov. 10-11, six from Miss Joyce’s Dance Studio attended the Carolina Dance Masters, Inc., convention at the Koury Center in Greensboro.

Those attending were Carolina Dance Master member Joyce Triche, teaching assistant Jesse Rishak, senior level students Carlie Davis, Emma Shelton and Hailey Turpin, and adult observer Ronda Davis. Mrs. Davis videotaped classes for the studio.

A total of 721 teachers and students from throughout the state attended master classes in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, tap, Broadway jazz, flexibility and acting. Past national president and executive secretary Robert Mann and the 2012 Miss and Mr. Dance of America were in attendance. In addition to 11 hours of classes, students enjoyed a “Polka Dots on Parade” banquet with 878 attending. Performances from our reigning Miss and Mr. Dance of America were part of the entertainment at the banquet.

Triche attended the members luncheon and grand body meeting. She received her continuing education certificate for attending the required number of classes within the past year.
