The inaugural “Pets Light Up Our Lives” Christmas program was held last Saturday afternoon at White Rust Photography in King. Some 46 pets were photographed for their owners throughout the day with proceeds benefiting Animal Rescue of Stokes County. Highlights of an afternoon program included a prayer by the Rev. Yates Wilkinson and a tree lighting, with a reading of names in memory or honor of 25 pets.”This was our first time to do this and we were pleased with the day,” noted Animal Rescue of Stokes County President Candis Loy. “And we were able to raise probably over $600.” Here, Loy (on right) stands in front of the Christmas tree with volunteer Deborah Holt and her 2-year-old Boston Terrier, Heidi.
