Two people have now been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Friday afternoon at the CVS store on South Main Street in King.

Officers with the King Police Department have charged Eric Anthony Duncan, 25, of 102 Rengo Drive, King, with armed robbery, trafficking heroin/opium, and probation violation. He is being held without the privilege of bond.

Also in custody is Bobby Joe Lawson, 31, of 1214 Edwards Farm Road, King, charged with aiding and abetting an armed robbery and probation violation. He is being held without bond.

According to Police Chief Paula May, the armed robbery occurred around 1:45 p.m. at the CVS store Friday when a white male in his twenties threatened to shoot pharmacy personnel but fled when he was given the prescription pills he demanded. A “significant quantity” of pills were taken, May said.

King police identified Duncan as a suspect and arrested him at 11:42 p.m. that night. Lawson was arrested the following morning at 11:30 a.m.

Chief May said she would also like to thank Walnut Cove Police Chief Chad Williams, K-9 units from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and the N.C. Department of Corrections, deputies from the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office and N.C. Probation and Parole for their prompt assistance with the case.
