Sat., Nov. 17
Bazaar — Kingswood United Methodist Church will hold a bazaar on Nov. 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. at 6840 University Parkway, Rural Hall. There will be cakes, pies, breads, cookies, casseroles, chicken pies, crafts, cookbooks, and a special drawing. Breakfast served.
Bazaar — Bethesda United Methodist Church, Madison, will host a bazaar on Nov. 17 at Dan Valley Community Building, 310 Dan Valley Road, Madison, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, yard sale items, food and much more. A light breakfast will be available for purchase at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. until, including hotdogs, pinto beans and can drinks.
Bazaar — A bazaar will be held at Belews Creek Christian Church from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Nov. 17, including a quilt raffle, chicken pies, crafts, baked goods, fried apple pies, breakfast biscuits and more.
Dinner and play — Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church, 6012 Germanton Road, Winston-Salem, will host a dinner and play on Nov. 17. Dinner at 6 p.m. The play to be presented, “Judgment Day,” was written by Louise Coley. Cost for dinner and play will be $10 per person. Menu: barbecue, baked potato, baked beans, slaw, and dessert. Proceeds will go to the Church’s CHOW (Combating Hunger on Weekends) program. For information or to reserve tickets call 924-4712.
Bazaar — Palmyra UMW will be holding their annual breakfast and bazaar on Nov. 17 from 7 a.m. until noon. Breakfast being served until 11 a.m. An all you can eat breakfast and several guest vendors will be there. Group will be featuring a 2013 calendar/planner with the Dan River on the cover and five historical sites in Stokes County. There will also be a variety of baked goods, canned goods and homemade breads.
Bazaar — Bethel Presbyterian Church, Red Bank School Road, Claudville, Va., will hold its sixth annual Arts and Craft Bazaar on Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. until.
Sun., Nov. 18
Thanksgiving service — On Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., Antioch United Methodist Church in Rural Hall will hold a Thanksgiving worship service with dedication of melodia organ pipes. Guest organist will be Ray Ebert of Winston-Salem.
Tues., Nov. 20
Thanksgiving service — A Thanksgiving Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 536 S. Main Street, King, on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Thanksgiving service — Walnut Cove Community Thanksgiving Service will be hosted by Rosebud Christian Church on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Please bring canned food for the ESOM food drive. All offering will go to the East Stokes Outreach Ministry.
Wed., Nov. 21
Supper and singing — St. Mark United Methodist Church, 9930 Baux Mt. Road, Germanton, will host a community covered dish supper and gospel singing on Nov. 21. Supper at 6 p.m. The singing, featuring The Living Faith and The Rythmaires Quartets, will be at 7:30.
