West Stokes put up a heck of a fight in their second round playoff game with Andrews at A.J. Simeon Stadium in High Point on Friday night, but in the end their offense had trouble running the ball and did not score one touchdown in the game.

The Red Raiders handed the Wildcats a 31-0 blowout to end their season.

Although the Wildcats fought hard to get down the field, they could not get the final rush into the endzone as in previous games. The Raiders’ defense put a quick stop to some of the Wildcats’ best offensive plays.

With 4:27 to go in the first quarter, Marquell Cartwright grabbed the first touchdown for the Raiders. That was only the beginning of the Raider onslaught, too. The Raiders went on to grab two more touchdowns before the half. By halftime, the Raiders led 21-0.

Just seconds into the third quarter, the Raiders’ Justin Lea grabbed a soaring 65-yard pass, which he ran in for a touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Raiders opened up again with a strong push down field, which brought them to the Wildcats’ 30-yard line. Then, they kicked a good field goal, which brought the score to 31-0.

In the final moments of the game, both sides battled it out and played well defensively. Neither side was prepared to give the other an inch. Still, the Wildcats could not come up with a touchdown Friday night. The final score of the game was 31-0.

Raiders’ Head Coach Rodney McKoy said that the Wildcats played a good game. “This game was hard fought on both sides,” he said.
