Sat., Nov. 10

Stew — On Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, chicken and oyster stew and hot dogs with all the trimmings, plus desserts, will be available. Come and enjoy the fellowship. Noahs Faith will perform music for the afternoon and evening. Carry-outs are available at $5 per quart.

Auction — King Moravian Church will hold a Silent and Live Auction on Nov. 10 to close out the Fund Raising Campaign for the KMC Pipe Organ. Antiques, beach vacations, jewelry, fine art, home baked goods, Moravian specialties and furniture will be among the items to be sold. A hotdog supper will be served. Tickets are $5, which include supper and bidder paddle. Silent Auction begins at 4:30 and Live Auction at 6 p.m. Auctioneer Stanley Smith will be conducting the live auction. Sun., Nov. 11

Memorial service — Armistice Day Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Through history, poetry and songs, the sacrifices of the men of Stokes and Forsyth Counties and of thousands of Americans will be highlighted. Call 336-591-7969 if you would like to recognize a World War I veteran or have memorabilia from World War I to exhibit. This is a special service of the worshiping community inspired by St. Philips Episcopal Church of Germanton. Meet at the historic Germanton United Methodist Church on Main Street in Germanton. Tues., Nov. 13

Chicken stew/speaker — Stokesburg UMC will have a chicken stew supper from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. Kevin Hennelly, state trooper, will speak after the meal on “Safe Driving for all ages.” This event is free, but donations will be accepted for the food. Everyone is welcome.

Wed., Nov. 14

2nd Wed. Holy Eucharist — At 6:30 p.m., the monthly service of Holy Communion will be held. This is the regular meeting time of the worshiping community inspired by St. Philips Episcopal Church of Germanton. Meet at the historic Germanton United Methodist Church on Main Street in Germanton. All are welcome at the Lord’s Table.

Sat., Nov. 17

Bazaar — Kingswood United Methodist Church will hold a bazaar on Nov. 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. at 6840 University Parkway, Rural Hall. There will be cakes, pies, breads, cookies, casseroles, chicken pies, crafts, cookbooks, and a special drawing. Breakfast served.

Bazaar — Bethesda United Methodist Church, Madison, will host a bazaar on Nov. 17 at Dan Valley Community Building, 310 Dan Valley Road, Madison, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, yard sale items, food and much more. A light breakfast will be available for purchase at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. until, including hotdogs, pinto beans and can drinks.

Bazaar — A bazaar will be held at Belews Creek Christian Church from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Nov. 17, including a quilt raffle, chicken pies, crafts, baked goods, fried apple pies, breakfast biscuits and more.

Sun., Nov. 18

Thanksgiving service — On Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., Antioch United Methodist Church in Rural Hall will hold a Thanksgiving worship service with dedication of melodia organ pipes. Guest organist will be Ray Ebert of Winston-Salem.
