Thanks to Share the Blessings
I would like to thank the group called Share the Blessings for putting in new flooring in my home. Plus First Baptist Church in King that they worked thru.
I don’t know or remember all the names but there were a lot of men working that day. Some very nice ladies also came. Thanks for the basket of goodies also. They had my floors down and finished in one day. They worked really hard.
There are still caring and kind helpful people left in these hard times. Thanks again for all you do for these who need the help.

Animal Shelter needs volunteers
I am writing to encourage our citizens who have some free time on their hands to volunteer at our local animal shelter on Sizemore Road. They are in need of volunteers to field phone calls, clean kennels, walk and brush the dogs and any other needs. The adoptions have picked up at the shelter and the staff is in need of some extra help with daily tasks. This will allow them the opportunity to keep trying to find these animals a forever home! The staff at the shelter is doing a fantastic job but finding animals a new home requires a lot of work that is not in their daily job description. This is where the volunteers come in. A few hours a week is all that is needed and no experience necessary as we are putting a volunteer training program into place. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Stokes County Animal Shelter at 994-2788.
