Editor’s Note: Events listed in the church calendar must be submitted in writing. Church calendar items are not accepted over the telephone. Information may be e-mailed to levans@thestokesnews.com, faxed to 591-4379 or 983-8203. The deadline is 3 p.m. Monday prior to publication. On-going church calendar items will publish the last week of each month. They will publish at other times as space allows. Items may be submitted two weeks prior to the event. Because of space limitations, some announcements only appear the week of the event.

Sat., Dec. 20

Christmas program—Haw Pond Church of Christ, 1008 N. Friendship Road at the intersection of Carroll Road, will present its Christmas program on December 20 at 7 p.m. The choir will perform various holiday selections, both sacred and secular. The public is invited to attend.

Sun., Dec. 21

Live nativity—The children at Trinity United Methodist Church in King will be presenting a live nativity scene entitled “A Night at the Stable” in the church parking lot from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on December 21. Inside the church, nativity scenes will be on display, and a visit from Santa is expected. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information, please call 983-5405.

Christmas cantata—There will be an adult Christmas cantata at Calvary Baptist Church in King on December 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Tue., Dec. 23

Candlelight Service—There will be a Candlelight Service at Calvary Baptist Church in King on December 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Sun., Dec. 28

Musical concert—The Treble Makers, a community choir, will be presenting a seasonal program of secular and sacred music at First UMC, 202 South Stephens Street, Pilot Mountain, on December 28 at 7 p.m. The event is free.
