Robert Ray Stewart of 1045 Parkview Dr. in King was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening after running on foot to elude capture.
Stokes County’s Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and Special Investigations Division served a warrant at the residence and discovered methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, controlled prescription pills and an AK-47.
“Our deputies never know what they could come across when they enter a residence,” said Sheriff Mike Marshall. “I’m glad no one was injured serving this warrant, and appreciate our detectives working long hours to combat drugs in our county.”
Stewart was charged with PWIMSD methamphetamine felony one count, PWISD marijuana felony one count, PWIMSD SCH IV controlled substance felony one count, PWISD cocaine felony one count, PWIMSD SCH II controlled substance felony one count, possession of firearm by a felon felony one count, maintaining a dwelling felony one count, possession of drug paraphernalia misdemeanor one count, possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia misdemeanor one count.
Stewart is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 16 and is being held on $75,000 bond.
