Communities In Schools to host golf tournament
Communities In Schools of Forsyth County will hold its Fourth Annual Golf Tournament at Winston Lake Golf Course on June 14. Registration is at noon and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m., Captain’s Choice format. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place teams, closest to the pin, longest drive, and hole-in-one. NTSC U12 Strikeforce captures championship trophy
The Northern Triad Soccer Club U12 Strikeforce captured the championship trophy in the 2013 Crossroads Classic in Statesville last weekend. The tournament started on Saturday, May 18, when the NTSC Strikeforce met the home team ICRD United soccer club out of Statesville. Denny and Robertson finish strong at state golf championships
South Stokes’ Keenan Denny finished in seventh place in the State 1A Golf Championships at Chapel Hill Country Club. Denny participated in the two-day tournament on May 13-14 and shot 77 in each round of 18 holes. He finished in the top 10 in a competition that hosted nearly 100 of the best individual golfers in the state. Denny moved up a full spot from his eighth place finish in the State 1A Golf Championships last year at Buies Creek. ...

The Southeastern Stokes Middle School Lady Warrior softball team has reached a 30-game win streak spanning three seasons, outscoring their opponents 133 to 11. Chestnut Grove’s baseball team gets championship title
Chestnut Grove Middle School’s baseball team continued to play strong in the second half of the season and finished the year with a record of 14-1. The team’s only loss of the season came at the hands of Central Middle School, who beat Chestnut Grove 11-6 on April 11.
