Civic and community groups, such as these Boy Scouts from Sandy Ridge, also took part in the parade that kicked off the Stokes Stomp on Saturday.
Pioneer Community Hospital, previously Stokes Reynolds Memorial, had a float in Saturday’s parade, proclaiming a new dawn for the county’s medical system.
The final band to take part in the Stokes Stomp Parade was the West Stokes High School Marching Band, in keeping with this year’s theme, “Music, Music, Music!” They and the other school bands marched from the Government Center to Moratock Park, playing for the gathered crowd at intervals.
