South Stokes’ Keenan Denny finished in seventh place at the State 1A Golf Championships at Chapel Hill Country Club.
West Stokes’ Jesse Robertson finished in 25th place at the State 2A Golf Championships at Long Leaf Country Club.
CHAPEL HILL - South Stokes’ Keenan Denny finished in seventh place in the State 1A Golf Championships at Chapel Hill Country Club.
Denny participated in the two-day tournament on May 13-14 and shot 77 in each round of 18-holes. He finished in the top ten in a competition that hosted nearly 100 of the best individual golfers in the state.
Denny moved up a full spot from his eighth place finish in the State 1A Golf Championships last year at Buies Creek.
SOUTHERN PINES -West Stokes’ Jesse Robertson tied for 25th place in the State 2A Golf Championships at Long Leaf Country Club. Robertson shot 81 in the first round and 87 in the second round of the two-day tournament that hosted 84 of the state’s best golfers.
West Stokes’ Golf Coach Jeff Robertson said he was pleased with Jesse’s performance.
“I’m proud for him just to make it to a state championship,” Coach Robertson said.
