Carlos Mitchell
A Walnut Cove resident who has already served a prison term for several sex offenses has now been charged with one count felony indecent liberties with a child.
According to a news release from the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office, Carlos Tremeyne Mitchell, 36, of 1051 Middlefork Road, Walnut Cove, was arrested on Nov. 7 on the indecent liberties charge.
Chief Deputy Craig Carico did not reveal many details of the case, but did say that the recent offense was reported in October 2012.
Mitchell was convicted of three counts of statutory rape and three counts of indecent liberties on Sept. 14, 2000, in Forsyth County and sentenced to prison. He was released from prison on May 20, 2010. Mitchell is currently listed on the N.C. Sex Offender Registry.
Mitchell has a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 21. His bond was set at $35,000 secured.
