The Rock House Ruritans will have a turkey shoot Saturday night with the doors opening at 5 p.m. The shooting starts at 6 p.m. Come out and try your luck at winning a turkey, bacon, or ham.
Funeral services were held Sunday for Kathy Shelton. She was buried at Brown Mountain Church Cemetery. Kathy, her brother Georgie and mother Maggie Shelton lived in my rent house for 20 years. At the time of her death, she made her home with her brother David & Darlene Shelton on Beagle Lane off Hwy 66 near Old Orchard Church.
Ruth Sechrist spent a week in the Northern Surry Hospital with pneumonia. She is now in a rest home.
Sanders McHone is a patient in Forsyth Memorial Hospital with pneumonia.
L.G. Tilley is a patient in the Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He has COPD and other problems.
Chassie Pell and Jan Cox are sick at this time.
Erse McIntyre, who is over the hill, got her drivers license last week. She had to take the road test. She has been driving for years — proud of you Ersie!
Helen Nelson is having problems with her knee due to surgery and is confined to her home a lot.
Judy Chilton remains a patient in the Sticht Center in the Baptist Hospital. She suffered a stroke before Thanksgiving. Her sister Janice Gordon does dialysis 2-3 times a week in Mt. Airy.
We are so happy to see it raining. It is good for the land.
The Gordy family and relatives are planning on having Christmas lunch at the Rock House Ruritan Club Building with a covered dish on December 25th at 1 p.m. If you don’t have someone to eat with, come and join us.
