Quail vs. Kids

Letter to the Editor:

Quail are better protected than our kids and grand kids. Hunters are required by laws that forbid using more than 3 shells in an automatic shot gun with a 5 shell capacity. They are required to “plug” the other shell ports.

Response to Miller letter

To the Editor:

Randy Miller’s letter tiresomely reminds us again that the rich pay most of the taxes. Why should that shock us, since the rich suck up so much of the income and own most of the assets?

He also reminds us yet again that the bottom 48 percent of wage earners pay little or no income tax. But that only shows how many people in this country are barely getting by. Jobs don’t pay what they used to. Many people in Stokes County are in that 48 percent. Many of them are trying to support children on inadequate incomes.

I’d correct other distortions in Mr. Miller’s letter, but it’s just too tiresome, and it’s stuff we’re scolded with over and over. Why keep writing letters to the editor rubbing our noses in praise-the-rich talking points heard on Fox News? Stokes is not a rich county.

Mr. Miller seems to be worrying a lot about the rich. I worry people who can’t make ends meet, and children who are living in poverty.

Response to Miller letter

To the Editor:

Concerning Mr. Randy Miller’s response to my letter “House should work with Obama,” in my opinion, he serves as an example of the far right with blinders on. Many among the wealthy in America have come forward to pay their fair share; Warren Buffett is one of them. Mr. Randy Miller is pleading a false case with well put together words. He reminds me of that type of lawyer that will make a guilty client look innocent.

Mr. Murphy,

That is a Semi-Automatic shotgun. Hunters do not you Automaitc Shotguns to hunt quail and the there is no port plug. It's actually a wooden stick that is instaled in the shell magazine. Children in schools could be better protected by CCW carriers if the "GUN FREE ZONES" were done away with. Why do you think these shooters go to schools? The zones are the problem. Many retired police offiecers a CCW holders could do this job for FREE. What part of Protection is not understood. We do not need our 2nd Amendment infringed on. Period!
