On Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2 p.m., the annual King Christmas Parade will be held with a theme “Let It Snow.” Rain date will be December 8 at 10:30 a.m.

Mitchell’s Nursery and Greenhouses are taking orders for poinsettias for churches and businesses.

On Friday, December 7 from 5 to 9 p.m., Downtown Shopping Night will be held in King.

The 1952 Senior Class of King High School held their 60th year celebration on Saturday, November 10, in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church in King. We had a good crowd present and enjoyed our afternoon of fellowship and food.

We had a total of 35 in our class and we have lost a total of 10 students. Those deceased members are Bobbie Jean Barr Brown, Billy Bob Barr, Jeweldene Boles, Jo Ann East Craddock, Alton Lawson, Dale Newsome, Richard “Dickie” Newsome, Merivale Newton Johnson, Fred Rierson, and Jimmy Robertson.

Students present were Coley A. Hunsucker, Omnie O. Grabs Jr., Peggy Hall Wall, Billy Tuttle, Margaret Faye Baker Blalock Furches, Harold Boyles, Carol Byrd Sams, Dennis Hartgrove, Joseph Kiser, Larry Kiser, Alleen Fulk Marshall, Geraldine Moser Hall, Emodean Nance Gatewood, Robert Newsome, Martha Smith Duggins, Frank Smith, and Carl Southern

We plan to have another reunion next year. Time and place will be announced later.
