The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Administrative Professionals Association (NCCEAPA) is now accepting college scholarship applications.

The North Central District that covers 20 counties in North Carolina, including Stokes County, will award $250 to the most qualified applicant. Then that person’s application will be placed into a small pool of applicants from across the state to be considered for a $500 award.

The deadline to apply is March 15, 2013. The scholarship is awarded annually to honor the work and dedication of Edith Herter and Frances O’Neal, co-leaders in forming the NCCEAPA in 1973. Applicants must be a North Carolina resident pursuing an associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in a business related field of study and enrolled to attend classes during the 2013-2014 school year.

Qualified applicants may obtain an application packet from the financial aid office at their local community college by contacting an administrative professional at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, Stokes County Center, at 336-593-8179, or by visiting the Center at 700 N. Main Street, Danbury, NC 27016.
