Patti Dunlap, President Stokes County Historical Society announces that March 19 The Stokes County Historical Society will host “History of One Family” – Mr. George Pardue of Surry County, NC will show his award-winning DVD, “The Peter Henry Pardue Family” and discuss tips on successfully researching your family genealogy. Mr. Pardue, a retired business man, has done extensive research on the Pardue family who were very early settlers to NC and this area. His DVD won the prestigious NC Society of Historians Paul Green Multimedia Award. This presentation will be at 2:00pm at the Walnut Cove Public Library, 106 West 5th St. Walnut Cove, NC 27052. After trying this cake once, you’ll want to always keep these two ingredients on hand for when that dessert craving strikes. This 2-Ingredient Pineapple Cake is an angel food cake recipe that simply uses the cake mix and 20 oz. can crush pineapple! All you have to do is mix and bake, and you’ll have a delicious tropical cake in less than an hour. You simply won’t believe how easy this cake is to make once you taste how delicious it is.
1 box Angel Food Cake Mix
20 oz. can crush with juice
Move rack to lower rack in the oven. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Continue mixing the ingredients in a bowl (do not over mix.} Grease a Bundt pan. Pour into prepared Bundt pan. Bake 45 minutes; allow cooling ten minutes in pan. You may need to use a spatula to loosen from Bundt pan before inverting. Allow to finish cooling after removing from pan.
2 cans Cherry Pie Filling
1 ½ stick margarine melted
1 White or yellow cake mix
Place pie filling in 2 inch pie filling dish,, cover with cake mix, spread melted margarine over cake mix. Place in 325 degree oven and bake until golden brown.
SWEET HAWAIIAN CROCK-POT CHICKEN—EASY AND YUMMMY!!
2 lb. Chicken tenderloin chunks 1 cup pineapple juice 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup soy sauce
Combine all together, cook on low in Crock-pot 6-8 hours…that’s it! Done! Serve with brown rice and you have a complete, easy meal!!
BUTTER PECAN CAKE
Betty Crocker Butter Pecan Mix
Betty Cocker Cocoanut Pecan Icing
½ cup oil
1 cup water
¼ cup chopped pecans
Mix everything well except pecans. Grease cake pan and coat with powder sugar. Put chopped pecans in bottom of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
