A good number of people showed up Sunday for the community meeting at the Francisco Community Building. Paul Blue, Bill Hart and Jay Talmon are heading up the Task Force to determine what would work best for the repurposing of the Francisco Elementary School. A video of the 2016 Francisco FarmFest was shown and if you haven’t seen it yet, several people have shared it on Facebook. It’s a really good video and brought back a lot of fond memories. A soup supper was held after the meeting and Texie Jessup said the food was “exceptional!”
Cookies are now being sold by the Francisco Girl Scout Troop. These tasty treats are such a favorite of everyone. I especially love the caramel delights with my cup of coffee! This is their major fund raiser of the year, so give them a call and help these young people out. For more information, please call Grace Portch at 336-971-3067.
After you eat your five boxes of Girl Scout cookies in two days, you’ll need to work out. A new fitness session will begin at the Piney Grove Middle School starting Thursday, January 26. The class starts at 6:15 pm and the cost is $35 for a 6 week session on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Remember 20% of the fees go to Piney Grove School. For more information, please call Sharon McGeeney at 336-325-0497.
