Wasn’t the snow gorgeous? Here on Sam Moir Road, we had around 8 inches of the white stuff. Mama always said not to make snow cream with the first snow, but I figured what the heck, I’ll just scrape off the top. Delicious! The roughest part of the weekend was the cold temperatures. Where’s the hot flashes when you need them? I’m ready for spring now. I want to thank all the people who had to go into work. The hospital and nursing home workers, police and fire departments and rescue workers, DOT, plumbing and electrical workers, we can never thank you enough for what you do. We all appreciate you!

We will have a community meeting Sunday, January 22, at the Francisco Community Building starting at 3:00 pm with a covered dish supper at 5:00 pm. If you or your group would like to use the Francisco Elementary School, we need to know it. Our Task Force is just beginning and we need your help. Bring your favorite covered dish and join our conversation. We are currently in the process of drafting our plan for the repurposing of the school. Help us get down to business to make the school an asset not only to Francisco but surrounding communities as well. This is also a wonderful opportunity to the parents of home schoolers to voice your ideas on how the school could provide a meeting place for your clubs and organizations. People who are interested in Head Start for children, day care for the elderly, retail space, arts and music venues, agriculture sales, this meeting is for you. Help us bring our area to life once more.

Wintertime has brought much sickness to our community; Francis Frans, Danny Mitchell, Alma Dunkley, just to name a few. R.W. Goins and Jennifer Overby are taking chemo treatments. Gray Tucker passed away last week and Donald Durham passed away last Sunday. Please lift all of these precious families up in prayer.
