Carolyn Craig - Sandy Ridge News

I called Randy Cook for an update on True Light Baptist Church. He said, “It’s going really well. We are having to replace the old heating and air units. So, everything is at a standstill while plans are being drawn up for all the duct work. I still do not have a projected date for our first service, but will keep you posted.”

Bread of Life Fellowship has donated book bags with supplies available to Sandy Ridge Elementary School students in need. You may call or come by the school. I spoke with Tessa today and she said they have 15 – 20 left and this is on a first come, first serve basis. Also, Open House will be Thursday, August 24 from 4:30 – 7:00.

Dollar General is offering 20% off on select school supplies to all teachers. The store in Sandy Ridge is collecting school supplies for SRES.

Go by Southern Styles & Tanning and get 10% off on school haircuts through the month of August.

The local Ruritans are gearing up for the 2017 10th Annual Ridgefest which will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 10 am to 3 pm at NC Stokes Fire Dept. This is a free day for the community and is sponsored by area businesses. RSVP by September 25 to Andrea Finch at, text or call 669-0826. You must provide your own table.

Continued prayers are needed for Madeline Watkins, Ronda Wilkins and Steve Chaney.
