Discountenance the Traitor and Baseness

Dear Editor, the traitor appeals to baseness! Cicero warned–“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

George Washington spoke in his Farewell Address–“Towards the preservation of your Government and the permanency of your present happy state, it is requisite, not only that you steadily discountenance irregular oppositions to its acknowledged authority, but that you resist with care the spirit of innovation upon its principles, however specious the pretext … Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens.”

Today, we need to discountenance the specious claim of the normalcy of perversion that religion and morality forbid. The soul of our nation is being rotted by traitors from within and those political cowards with self-deceived minds.

Why is the federal government promoting the epitome of what is repulsive to a Republic–perversion–when the constitution guarantees to the states, in Article IV, Section 4, a Republican form of government–naturally principled on virtue? Now is not the time to be silent or fearful; especially for those who took an oath to the constitution, and to those who claim allegiance to God, the Creator–who revealed His Word and Moral Law–championing Virtue–in the Bible’s Holy Scriptures.

Therefore, harken–God our Creator is above all!–Church and State, and, all mankind will He summons to Judgement. Psalm 50–“The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof… Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent… Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consented with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit… Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God.” Surely, whatever we do, or do not do, counts forever!
