Who’s your hero? Let the world know!

Nominations requested for the 2017 Salute to Heroes Celebration

Do you know a hero – a person who has saved a life, demonstrated extraordinary courage, or exemplifies outstanding humanitarian values? If so, nominate that person for the Salute to Heroes program and help the American Red Cross honor our area heroes. Hero nominations must live, work, or attend school in one of the following Piedmont Triad area eleven counties: Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin.

The Salute to Heroes celebration will be held on Sept. 26, 2017 at the High Point Theater, 220 East Commerce Ave., High Point.

Salute to Heroes will honor individuals from our military services – active duty and veterans, law enforcement, emergency services and fire services. In addition, citizen heroes will be honored.

Nominees must have performed an act of act of heroism, demonstrated extraordinary courage, or performed a humanitarian deed(s) within the time frame of Dec. 2014 through April 2017 (with the exception of the military categories. There are no timeframe restrictions for either active duty or veteran military members.)

All nominations must be received by April 30, 2017. The online nomination form and additional information about Salute to Heroes can be found at: www.redcross.org/piedmonttriadheroes

The Salute to Heroes Selection Committee will review the submissions and select the heroes from each category. The categories for awards can also be found on the website.

Colonial Pipeline Company is the Presenting Sponsor for Salute to Heroes. United Healthcare is the gold sponsor.
